Re: GSR intake change
i did this change a couple months ago with a ABES intake manifold... you loose alot of bottom end TQ, same thing happens with the Skunk2 one.. you do make up in the topend of the power... but a good dyno tune is in order. without having a real tune on the dyno the driveabillty sux!
IMO you can remove the butterfly flaps section ( the GSR manifold is a 3 section unit ), and cap-off the vacume line from the engine. this will gain you the few extra HP and still keep the bottom-end TQ
i ran my car like that for awhile, then i swaped the intake manifold...and lost power on the dyno. after all said and done i know have a port and polished GSr head with springs, retainers, valves, and ITR cams with AEBS manifold, and make great power... porbly the best thing to do is save and buy ITR cams and the skunk manifold, then dyno tune immediately !!
