Engine Bearings??? ACL and King ???
Hey everyone, just curious to know your opinion. I need new rod/crank/main bearings in my b18a, and I keep seeing these ACL brand and King brand. Are these as goos as oem? I can't seem to find anything at all bad about them! So any info or help is helpful!

I use ACl's and if your block allows for they are great.
Do a search for king bearings and acl's.
I just did a search for Acl and found ''only'' about 150 threads about them.....
search is your friend

If NASCAR, INDY, and EVERYONE else use clevite77. Why shouldn't we? That's my question. They have been around for some 80 years and have always been at the fore front of racing and street bearings.

ACL bearings are very high quality. Good cheaper alterantive to OEM bearings. If they are within your range of clearance specifications they will work well.

Does clevite77 make bearings for the DOHC honda line? I am going with ACL's in my build.

I believe I used Clevites on my LSVtec setup... they worked fine. But I'd go Honda if I had the chance.

I would choose ACL used them and I wouldn't change a thing over again
I mean stock useage then yes OEM is the best but for after market and high reving u need something way different
and the OEm I believe should be made all of the same material copper... or aluminum right
I mean why when a bearing is spun do u see gold flakes in the oil......

I'm sorry lol. I must have not been thinking. What I meant is what material is it made out of all together. Steal backed copper? Babbit overlay? Most OE bearings are great and last a long time. But after you have used parts. IE Crank, rods, they aren't as good. Typically, and I'm not saying this about honda, just generalizing, After market bearings are far superior to OE. They mate better, they make up for any imperfections that you won't have in a engine building room using brand new parts. Probably dirt is the biggest issue. OE uses certain bearings becuase when matched perfectly in a totally clean environment using brand new parts, they will last for a very long time and are cheaper then other bearings to buy/make.
Like I said before I'm saying this about honda(I don't know how they do it), I'm just making a generalazation.
