I'm trying to find the best technique for finding the centerline on VTEC cams.

Does anybody have any insight as to which cam lobe would be the most accurate to measure for the purpose of degreeing the cams to synchronize the cams and crank to TDC? -one of the small lobes or the VTEC lobe?

I'm also kinda stumped on where I can place the dial indicator for the most accurate measurement of lobe lift.

If I place it on the edge of the rocker arm where teh tappets are (or on the edge of the VTEC rocker arm pad), my lift measurements will be off (a little more than actual) b/c of radial distance I'm measuring away from the centerline of the camshaft. (ie: the cam lobe will have a lift of .030", but I'll be measuring .040").

I'm guessing that it wouldn't matter too much, as long as I have a measurable ramp in lift and that I can measure the same on the closing half of the lobe as the opening half.

Any help is much appreciated.

You have to degree your cams using the vtec lobe.The readins on your cam card are off of the vtec lobes. To do this, you must swap the pins in the lost motion assembly in cyl #1 on both in and ex. Put the small pin in the vtec follower and the big (vtec) pin in the small lobe follower thereby locking cyl #1 in vtec. As for dial indicator position/placement I used the same spot that you are talking about the edge of the rocker. BTW I don't kinow what you meant by, "I'm trying to find the best technique for finding the centerline on VTEC cams." if you meant that you were using lobe centerline method to degree you cams, I wouldn't the lobes aren't symmetrical at all. Also while degreeing set lash to zero and back off rockers on all toher cylinders. HTH
