D16y5 block with y8 head ecu swap problems
Hi, i recently bought a 1997 civic HX with a D16y5 block and a y8 head. i bought the car with the y5 ecu in it and swapped the y8 ecu over when i got it home. its the right ecu ive checked that more than once. But everytime i put the y8 ecu in the engine idles fine then after its given some rpm's it bogs down and stalls out. the only thing i can think of is that the timing is off a tooth. but im not sure if that would cause whats happening. any info that can be provided would be fantastic, thank you

Re: D16y5 block with y8 head ecu swap problems
The Y5 uses 190cc injectors, the Y8 uses 240's. To use the P2P you need 240's. You'll also need to correct the wiring for the primary O2 sensor if you use the P2P.

the codes i pulled were P1491 (EGR Valve insufficient lift) and 41-01 (o2 sensor heater fault). The injectors are from the y8 as is the vtec solenoid. those codes are the ones i pulled with the y5 ecu. Im not sure about the o2 sensor wiring but ill check with the seller
