coil pack keep burning up!
I have a 2000 civic dx hatch with a 94 h22a swap. The car has run great for 3 years now. It recently started to have a small miss around 4100 rpms so I changed the cap, rotor, plugs and wires (oem honda). and that did not solve it but it still ran ok. This weekend after a short drive the car stopped firing in cylinder 4 and it filled the cylinder with fuel. I purchased a new dist. from advanced and put my coil pack in it and the car still did not fire. SoI borrowed a friends coil pack and put it in my old dist. and the car fired. I ran that way for 1 day and the same thing happened as stated above. I purchased another coil pack (brand new) and drive the car home (approx. 9 miles) and as soon as I got into my neighborhood the car started to sputter again and sounded like the coil was gonna go once more. Any suggestions on what this might be? Has anyone had this problem? Thanks

Re: coil pack keep burning up! (BOOST_92)
if there is a continuous misfire it can burn up the coil. the coil still tries to fire and if it doesnt have a sparkplug to go to, or if the sparkplug isnt grounded properly it will find the next closest ground to send the spark energy too. usually this is inside the coil somewhere. fix your misfire problem and it will fix your coil problem
