Re: Best car battery...
So I decided to buy the battery in this link....

And I noticed an immediate difference! The lights in my car are brighter, music sounds more clear and it only weighs 14 pounds.

I bought the Autocraft Gold 86 size battery. Why that size? Because it is a completely sealed type rather than the other Autocraft that have service caps that say maintenance free but they leak. IDK why certain sizes had different setups. Anyways 640CCA and 800CA with a 105 minute reserve capacity. 3 year replacement warrant, 7 year pro rata or w/e. My last one lasted 7 years which is fine for me for a $96 battery. $13 a year... I can deal with that :D

Unhappy to report that the first really hot days of the season are too much for the Yellow top and it can't take the heat. It's barely able to provide enough juice to get the car to crank over.

They tried to sell me on Optima's when I was at Advanced and I said no, no, no I came here for the Autocraft Gold. From what I have read Optima's used to be all that and then the cheapened them out but still have the high price tag.

Re: Best car battery...
Looked for batteries a few years ago and found the Odyssey pc680 rated high. I was looking for a lighter smaller battery and mounted it behind and under the passenger seat. It has functioned well for 4 years. I keep it charged if not driving. Cycled it last year and still had original capacity. It will not last long with sound system if the car is off. Your "best" could be a large capacity battery for sound, or light for track. Odyssey is not cheap, but good quality. If you choose any small capacity battery, then keep it charged.

Optima batteries have gone down hill. There not the same as they used to be. And there warranty sucks *****. Take fcm advice and go with the interstate battery. They can take the abuse and last forever and have good warranty. Stay away from the autozone batteries. Warranty is bad and they will go to all lenghts to say a battery is good when it has a bad cell. Kinitec is also a good choice for a aftermarket battery and there warranty is great. I use them and carry them now. Will kick a optima battery in the butt.
