Default Which is the best B-series head-B16A,B18C1,B18C5

Which is the best B-series head-B16A,B18C1,B18C5?

I know the B16 and Integrea Type R heads are both PR3 heads, but is the ITR head ported and polished at all or is the only difference in the valvetrain and ITR cams?

Any advantages on the B18C1 head besides the slight higher compression?

I believe the type r head flows better than the gsr. So it's not just the cams and valvetrain that are different.

stock peice. fun. take your head to a shop and have it flowed with the cams you are going to use with the manifold and TB you are using. if you have a need for quality or CFMs, take it to someone to have it done. you will see optimal results.

stock heads flow so much the same its almost a waste of your time to invest in anything before that is done. go to joe alanzis' page. he has head benchmarks on it for you to browse

I think the pr3 head flows better.

Whats the difference between the b16 pr3 and b18c5 pr3 heads besides the valvetrains?

the B18C5 or type-R head has a slight port job on the intake side (and exhaust side if i'm not mistaken), besides having slightly better valvetrain, lost motion assemblies, and camshafts. that's about it though.

Here is the bowl port on an ITR head. As you can see it's minor work and the rest of the runners remain untouched.

I think every honda head has three angles. These angles include where the valve seats against, one above that and one below that angle.

I may be wrong though!

I hear people say that the gsr port runner is different from the pr3. Anyone have any details?
