Is it possible to make an automatic a manual transmission?

If not, how do I know if my car has a shift kit on it because in order for it to shift smooth, I have to do it myself starting from 1 and it doesn't shift to D4 (even if I put the shifter there) unless I'm over 50mph.
Unless my trans is taking a dump on me..
Little help over here?

Your cant turn an auto into a manual.
And your auto is probably going out.

Even if I swapped the auto trans for a manual?
And it shifts fine when I do it myself it doesn't keep slamming into gear. I understand what you're saying and I had that experience before with one of my previous cars. I don't think it's the same thing.

you can do an auto to manual swap.
your need everything from the manual tho.

Unless the parts can be had for dirt cheap, its not worth the time, money, effort. Might as well start with a manual car.
