Air conditioning compressor belt squeals when tight? A/C problem
1988 Civic DX D15B2 engine. The car's A/C compressor was frozen (would not turn at all), so I evacuated the refrigerant and replaced the compressor with a used unit. After refilling the refrigerant and oil using a low side pressure gauge, the air conditioning was functional for 1-2 days. The belt then started squealing once the compressor was turned on for 1-2 minutes. The belt was adjusted properly. The problem seems to be that the compressor becomes too difficult to turn after operating for a short time. Has anyone experienced this? What might be the problem?

You have an obstruction I would guess head pressure is going through the roof, well over 300PSI.
My guess is the expantion valve... http://www.redlinemotive.com/store/r...xpansion+Valve is plugged up, possibly the filter/dryer also.
When a compressor goes west, the filter dryer should always be replaced along with the compressor, but my guess is "chunks" from the compressor have plugged the expantion valve. 94
