Advice on aftermarket H22 valvetrain setup.
First off how do I go about getting the guides pushed into there installed height?
But if I do this correctly the lip on the valve guide will hold the spring base up off the base of the head.
and if I just push the guides all the way to the lip, the base will sit flat but seal won't catch both lips.
I figured the lower the better on the guide for seal to retainer clearance but then the seal won't sit fully because of the base. Some guidance will help thnx.
Ferrea valve guides skunk2 spring base,s2 Ti retainers, s2 springs, pro 1 cams, ferrea seals and keepers
There is a indented circle just under the lip that I thought you drove the guidea in to. If it was there it would put me right in the sweet spot. Should I shim a washer that thick?
can anyone tell me the importance of guide installed height, cause if I did this it would only put me at like 13 mm still lower then the SM installed height but the spring base would sit flush on head and seal would fit on fully. But once I installed seal it would be sitting higher then guide installed height anyways so.
hmm well I cant seem to find any other threads, maybe if someone knows a thread that would be better then nothing. The only thing I can think of is to shim the guides and that would atleast get all of them at the same depth with plenty of seal to retainer clearance and spring bases sitting flat on base seat , but I have only read people shimming spring bases for spring height. :/
This theory only works though if I can GO below valve guide installed height?? like stated earlier...
