93 civic ex with a b20b just makes like a click or pop noise when you try to start it. And when I go to the start position it starts beeping, the door open beep. The door is open but why would it make that sound when trying to start? Everything seems to be hooked up fine battery is good,( I just took it out of my crx which starts fine). Starter was good when I pulled the motor from my crx 4 months ago never had a problem. clean battery connections, good clean grounds, checked all fuses. Car didn't even come with a clutch safety switch the clip that is supposed to plug into the clutch safety switch just had a horseshoe wire plugged into the end of it grounding it out when I pull the wire out the car doesn't even click when I try to start it. Should I just go buy a clutch safety switch? I looked up how to make it so you don't have to push in the clutch to start and some people said to put a wire in it like mine is hooked up so i figured the clutch safety switch isn't my problem. I'm stumped and I've been searching and reading for days now so anyone who has had this problem or has any advice or input please let me know ASAP! I need to get this car running.

Also have tried jumping the starter to the battery and it just sparks no click from the starter

I haven't checked it and the battery is currently in my crx. So I can't check it now. but I had it in my coupe and tried starting it a bunch of times all day Saturday and all day Sunday, even testing the lights and when I put the battery back in my crx this morning it started up just fine. Crx has iTR motor so I'm sure it takes just as much power as the b20.
