87 Accord Lxi PGM FI Will Not Start Hot-SOLVED
Hello Fellow Users,
First post as new user, solution offered rather than question asked.
Car: 87 Honda Accord Lxi 2.0 fuel injected
Problem: Car will not re - start after it is warmed up or hot, as in operating temperature.
Solution: Replace Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor with:
Duralast/Coolant Temperature Sensor
Part Number: SU410
Notes: Coolant Temp Sensor
Warranty: Limited Lifetime
For Your 1987 Honda Accord 2.0L FI 4cyl
Duralast/Coolant Temperature Sensor SU410 at AutoZone.com
Unit Price $32.99
$32.99
Background: Very common problem all over the boards. Produces a 6 code on the ECU under driver's seat. The ECT is the shorter of the two temperature sensors which are side by side in front of the EGR. Both have a 2 wire connector. the taller sensor controls the electric fans. Worth every penny!
Next problem to solve on this car: Car has had a very low idle for a few years after being warmed up. Producing a code 12.....EGR. Researching this problem and will post solution once problem is solved.
