3.5 L V6 question
My son just bought a 2008 Accord Coupe with the 3.5 L V6 engine. This will be our first Honda, after years of BMWs, and I have a question. I've heard that the new 3.5 L engine has a timing chain rather than a belt. This is true of BMWs and you don't have the problem of replacing these during the normal life of the engine. True or not?
Thanks,
Stan

Re: 3.5 L V6 question (ffhillclimber)
I'd say just check the manual, but even those high speed silent chains need to be replaced at some point. What you and I consider the normal life of the engine may be different.
See what the manual has to say.

The v6 has a belt. The 4 cylinders use a chain.

The chains on the four cylinders should be good for the life of the engine.
