Default 2009 4 cylinder Oil Consumption

Has anyone else experienced an unusually high and unacceptable level of oil consumption in the 4 cylinder? I have been told there was a consumption problem by a service desk rep at the dealership. If I remember right it was for 2008 - 2011 4 cylinders. It seems, though, that Honda's acceptable limit for oil consumption is 1 quart per 1000 miles. For the first time my care ran low on oil around 78 - 79k 1 month after an oil change. I've never owned a car or truck that has used that much. Anyone else find this level of usage unacceptably high?

I never heard of this but here's what I found on a quick search.

1 quart every 1000 miles is absurd and if this is true I wonder why the hell I haven't heard anything about this til now.

It would do a cyl compression test if you haven,t already like tha may contribute to that. Or the possibility of using conventional oils over time cause wear'

You have discovered that Honda is now no better than anyone else, they are now just another company playing the numbers game while quality is going down the drain....I can say this because I have worked for Honda for 15 years now and I have seen first hand the fall of Honda. They are trying to compete with bigger companies and in the process losing quality control. Im currently at work but I will fill you all in later tonight what is going on with Honda. For the person experiencing the oil consumption, your rings are fried, they need to be replaced as well as your pistons, this will more than likely all be covered under warranty unless your car has been declared a total loss.
