2000 Prelude Different Grooved Pulleys
Hello everyone. So a couple months back I bought a 2000 prelude that had a H23 swapped into it. The Ac belt used to squeal but for not even for a half second when its first started, but now it's starting to squeal much longer. So I went ahead and bought it a new belt but before I went to put it on I noticed that the belt that was on it didn't fit the grooves on the pulley fully. After long examination I come to find out the crank is 5 groove pulley but the Ac and Alternator is 6 groove pulley. So I'm kinda at a stand still on what I should do. I had a quick idea to change the Ac and alternator pulleys from 6 groove to 5 groove but I don't know how difficult that'll be. If anyone has a solution to my problem. It'll be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I would just get the correct crank pulley and install it if it was mine. The a/c pulley is more work than you want to do. the crank is way easier.

A 6 groove A/C pulley and a 5 groove crank pulley/belt will not hurt anything as long as the 5 groove belt lines up square with 5 of the groves in the 6 groove pulley, I have done this many times. 94

Yes I figured running a 5 groove belt on a 6 groove pulley won't effect anything because that's what I'm currently doing. But the problem is that is squeals. And the squealing is getting worse. So you think a new 5 groove belt to replace the one on it now ? And would Advance Auto carry the 6 Groove Crank Pulley ?
