Default Tokico Illuminas vs. Koni Yellow Sport for Skunk2 coilovers.

I have Skunk2 Coilovers with Tokico HP Blue shocks as my current setup for my daily driver. The ride is nice and smooth but i want something a little more stiffer for cornering. Market price on eBay for new Illuminas is $375 and here on H-T i have seen the Koni Yellow's for $450. Which do you guys recommend best for daily driving and for slight track use. I like my ride height somewhat low so stiffening defenitely helps and shocks that can hold abuse is definitely a plus eventhough i do avoid much potholes. I know both are great shocks, greater then what i have now.

I looked at Skunk2's new shocks. I feel a bit iffy about them since they have just been introduced. I wonder how the ride is with those shocks. I haven't found much feedback on them, so i have opted to keep them out of my list. Any input?

if your looking for shocks id be fine with kyb agx's, i have them paired with my GC's and ride quality is great. If your going to buy the illuminas might as well get the konis bro. Illuminas and agx's are basically the same shocks quality wise. What i would do, koni's...the warranty on them is bad *** bro. Alot of HT members has had there konis replaced for free from wear/tear...

The Illuminas have a lifetime warranty. You may also want to consider the fact that you may require an adapter to use the koni shock with the skunk2 sleeve.

Hmm, i see. I guess i'll go with the Illuminas with GC Top hats up front and stock top hats in the back.

http://www.ground-control-stor.../CA=5

When they mention stem diameter their referring to the shock? If so what is the stem diameter of the Tokico Illumina's?

In the description they mention that these mounts could only be used in conjunction with Ground Control Coilover kits. Does this mean i can't use them on the Skunk2 coilover sleeves? Anyone tried it?

They will work if the Skunk 2 is a 2.5 inch inner diameter spring. The stem diamter for the illuminas is 10mm, IIRC.

I just lowered my integra gsr today. I went with H&R race springs, and some tokico illuminas, with a skunk 2 camber kit sitting on some rota slips.
Im getting an alignment tomorrow morning! ill let you know how she rides.

Hmm i'll have to measure them. I have the OTS 92-95 Civic one, anybody have the diameter of the spring? It would be easier for me since the only time i will have to measure the spring would be when i would be changing the shock which by then i would hopefully have ordered the top mounts. So to save some time anybody know if the coilover spring on Skunk2's is 2.5 inches?

Im running skunk2 coilovers on Illuminas. I like it a lot, it is hella stiff, but i dont mind it at all, it just gets annoying for the passengers. When you put it on the softest setting its prett smooth, but if you get on a road with a lot of bumps it can be pretty sloppy ride with it on the softest. It is my only car and i track it quite a bit, and on the track it is amazing and handles like a dream! And yes they also have a lifetime warrenty with the illuminas.
