Shocks/Coilover Sleeves vs Full Coilover
I drive a 1996 Civic Hatch. Right now i as slammed on Ebay coilovers on stock shocks. Ride is a bit bumpy but not that bad but i want to upgrade my suspension for Auto X/ DD. right now i got 700$ saved up for suspension. Im stuck in debating whether i should get sleeve coilovers or full coilovers for the price of 700$ or less. I was thinkin Skunk 2 Coilovers with Kyb Agx shocks for quite awhile. but im open to other opinions. Keep in mind that its for DD and track use.
Im open to all opinions, thanks.

GC springs with Koni yellow shocks is the most popular setup around right now. Coilovers are theoretically the best choice, but many do not like the ride. Search around the forums.youlll find TONS of stuff. i did.

Whether the coil over is adjustable or not, is not a factor in comfort at all.
Any car with the coil going over the shock, is a coil-over. The stock shocks/springs are "coilovers"

If you want to go with sleeves get some ground controls w/ koni shocks.
On my 03 ex I am on gc sleeves w/ tokico dspecs. I have them adjusted to my liking. If I were gonna go with a full coilover I would go with Progress.

Re: Shocks/Coilover Sleeves vs Full Coilover
skunk 2 makes actual full coilovers for like $600-700. IMO way better than struts with sleeves. But... do what youd like.
Ive been around 240s for a while. Ive had full coils, struts with springs, and struts with coil sleeves. Full coils is SOOOOO much better.. exp when you get a hole *** ton of adjustability.
Id recomend saving more and getting D2 full coilovers. 32 way adj. Seen plenty of stock cars with just full coils do so much better at the track than cars with a ton of mods. If your doing dd and auto-x, id get full coils because you can set, and reset for the street and per-track. best bang for the buck, and youll be alot happier.
just my .02 but what do I know, Im just a nissan owner.

these guys are right save up another 100 bucks and get the koni/gc combo. do not EVER get any suspension components from skunk2. you WILL regret it (shortly) down the road. and that isn't from second hand experience.

Re: Shocks/Coilover Sleeves vs Full Coilover
Personally, my friend has a 91 hatch with sleeve/shock combo, another friend has high dollar lowering springs, and I have tein coilovers on my 99 si. My car is lowered very low and the ride is very tight, but it is still the best ride of the three. I would reccomend them to anyone. $800. Sorry to bump an old thread, but had to give my 2 cents.

Re: Shocks/Coilover Sleeves vs Full Coilover
Ride comfort is an equation involving damper compression characteristics and spring rate progressiveness.
Whether the coil over is adjustable or not, is not a factor in comfort at all.

The only reason a sleeve/damper combo would ride worse is because the person buying them didn't match them properly.
