Rotor and Pad upgrade options

Rotor and Pad upgrade options
New member and first ever post! So I've been meaning to at least change my front brake pads soon and I have been searching on Amazon and various other entities to scope out a good price on some HAWK ceramic pads, and thought I might as well replace/upgrade the rotors while I am at it. Don't necessarily think my rotors NEED to be replaces but I'd rather get some nice drilled and slotted rotors for increased stopping power. Looking at either getting some Brembo, EBC, or StopTech. What is your take on those options and is going that route a good choice in an easy/simply upgrade that will substantially improve safety and reliability of my hatch? Any knowledge or prior experience on good pads and drilled/slotted rotors I greatly appreciate the feedback.

Here are a few front rotor options that I was considering:

Brembo blanks and Akebono pads. Next to no brake dust. Stoptech aint bad either for rotors.
I suggest you research before asking the hot button topic on blanks vs. drilled or drilled/slotted rotors.

All of the companies you have listed are known good brands.
For the street - any of the parts you have listed will work. I wouldn't expect to see any huge brake performance improvements from a rotor change. I won't get into the blank vs drilled slotted because that's been beat to death. All i will say is this vid link below was with autozone blanks / carbotech xp10 / motul fluid and braided lines. If you get blanks they will "perform" just fine. Remember too your braking peformance is limited by your tire grip so consider getting better tires if you really want to stop quicker
Why rotors brighter than headlights? Becuz racecar.

Thanks for all the info guys. Looks like I need to continue my research on the topic. I was under the impression that drilled/slotted would be far superior than blanks but it seems otherwise. Tread on the wheels as of now is 8/10 so it's still a good amount, yet I can feel the current pads having minor struggles to stop the car as quickly and effortlessly as I wish that they would. Thought my decision would be fairly easy but now I'm thinkig otherwise. I'll consider all of the info you guys provided and continue my research to hopefully make the best ultimate decision

"far superior" might be just a little too strong. I cannot stress enough that the most important thing you can do is bed the pads in according to the manufacturer's instruction. Failure to do that can turn the best rotors into scrap metal.

Thanks for the info, I'll make sure I don't improperly install the pads. I am pretty sure I'll be getting the Hawk pads and didn't know if I should just throw those onto the hatch as is with the current oem rotors on there. They aren't shot by any means, I just thought it would be a good safety and reliability upgrade to swap out the rotors for better and new ones while I'm at it, but maybe it isn't even all that much of a difference if I were to at least just get new pads on there for now.

Re: Rotor and Pad upgrade options
i'd say centric rotors, i remember hearing that stoptech's mother company is centric anyways.
as for the pads, i like hawk hps. i have experience with the forementioned brands.
i have no experience with EBC so i can't comment on that.
my friend had brembo blank rotors on his eg hatch, they're pretty pricey but they're good quality.

Awesome thanks man. Sounds like Centric or Brembo would be my top two choices to decide from, and of course the Hawk hps pads get mad love so I know I won't go wrong getting those. Bump to all
