Default Progress ?

I have progress coilovers on my 1996 ek hatch with rates 350f and 350 rear. The front rides good but the back is little bouncy I was wondering if anyone has tried using different springs like ground control on progress struts. Thank You

Too easy.

Seriously, call Progress and talk to them. Super simple and they will tell you what you need. The website itself says some of the higher spring rates can lead to a choppy ride.

Many people buy a set of springs for the track and a set for daily use. I've even thought about it myself.

That's like saying, "Our shocks can't handle the medium and stiff springs we offer". Why doesn't this company valve their shocks to the springs a customer orders?

That's not saying any such thing. It's a pretty universal fact that higher spring rates equals a harsher ride. Shock valving can only accommodate so much.

But really, WTF do you want for a sub $1k set of suspension? But then again, you're assuming that they can't. Maybe you should ask them.

Yes, higher spring rates equal a harsher ride. IMO a company shouldn't offer spring rates their shocks can't handle. I would be pissed if I spent my hard earned money on a highly suggested entry level coilover, and have the rear end of my car bouncing down the road. I have a sub $1k set of suspension on my car. I paid $755 for my koni/gc setup with 430# front and 400# rear springs. No bounce.

Where are you getting that they cannot handle it? You're injecting that into the discussion as if it were fact. Also you're talking about a highly subjective thing. OP says they bounce and others running the same spring rates give it a thumbs up. I've seen idiots slammed to the ground, bouncing up and down like a carnival ride claiming that "it rode nice". People have even said the 250s were too bouncy, expecting their car to ride like a Caddy.

You're seeing a deficiency that just isn't there and wasn't reported. It's a preference thing, not a hardware issue.

I noted something on the Progress website. It does not mean their shocks are adjusted poorly. It's just an honest company for a change. They do not suggest 500R springs for daily use. The website says their shocks are valved for their springs they offer, and they are. I have 350F/500R and can't complain. I don't do a lot of highway driving in this car though.
