Need alignment after changing wheels (from 14" to 15")?
I've got a box of KYB AGX shocks and Eibach sportlines just DYING to go on my car. I know i have to get an alignment after changing the supension.
I am gonna be getting some new 15" wheels soon though (going from stock 14" steelies) BUT i think its gonna be a bit before i get tires and throw those on. Do I have to get the car re-aligned after changing wheels or no?
I would rather not get the alignment done twice ($$$) but if i dont need one for my wheels then the suspension is going on soon...

Anytime you change the suspension you should get an alignment. If you havent had one in a long time then get one when you change the wheels and tires.

its only really nessasary to get and alignment when changing the overall diameter of the wheels and tires if the last alighnment shop did the alignment (especialy toe) in inches/millimeters. if the alignment was measured in degrees then you'll be alright.

The suspension doesn't care what size wheels/tires that you have on the car. If you threw on 20" rims it wouldn't change your alignment. Think about it, the geometry of the suspension remains the same regardless of wheel/tire size. It's the wheel hub that connects to the wheel that controls the suspension. This point doesn't change! The suspension sees the exact same height. The springs still hold the car @ the same point, the only thing that changes is your ground clearance. Don't worry about getting an alignment after throwing on new wheels. You don't need it if you're alignment is good already.

The only time changing wheels would really affect your alignment would be if they have a dramatically different offset...and then it would be marginal
You should not need an alignment if you just change the wheels.
