koni suspension questions
I just bought a set of koni yellow suspension for my 92' hatchback. Only having stock suspension on right now. The springs rate on the koni is 400/400, with only stock, black, top hats.
How low should I drop with 14" HX wheels without tires rubbing the fenders?
Should I get groundcontrol top hats at least for the front?
Is there any type of formula and/or pattern I should use when lowering a car?
I know most people probably would prefer function7 LCA, but is there any other good ones without the price of a function7 LCA?
I've been driving for long now but not when it come to replacing parts, hope some of you experienced in here can help me out.
Thanks in advance

Re: koni suspension questions
You won't want to lower more than about 2" on Koni/GC's. After that point, a lot of your driving will be done on bumpstops and the ride quality becomes bad.
You can do extended front hats. That will move the shock upward to reduce height withoug reducing stroke.
Even then...no more than about 2.5" lower than stock.
I'm sure people will disagree. But consider the fact that I am right and they are wrong.

So you're saying, even if I have ground control top hats on the front, max drop is 2.5" from where the stock is set at?

That's as far as you WANT to go. You can slam it like a fool. But it will ride badly and you'll be on bumpstops a lot. Konis aren't really shorter than stock.

Re: koni suspension questions
This is like...2.5-3" lower than a non-ITR integra (ITR's start out about .75" lower than normal). It didn't ride all that great...but it was acceptable all in all.
At this height, it rode 100X better.
Here's my old EM1 about 2" lower than stock. It looks good at this height, I think.
You wanted to slam your car or something?

Once I get a chance to change from 195/50's to 205/50's for tires, I'll raise it a little more. Being slammed is over rated.
