koni ground controls brand new but bouncy
well i bought a car with koni ground control suspension. The setup has less than 5k miles if that
the rears are setup with he koni yellows and 550lb ground controls coilovers with gc tophats and the fronts for now are skunk 2 on kyb's
the fronts are great. the rears bounce like hell. guy is getting the fronts replaced because they were leaking. i looked at the rears from outside and seemed clean but wont know until i take them out.
what im asking, is there a way to adjust the koni's or are they simply blown out. its are very soft ride. im used to stiff suspension just how i like it. id rather feel ever crack then have my car bottom out.
it feels like the konis cant handle the ground controls.

550 i believe is the high end of the range for ots konis you probably need to set them almost all the way to full stiff, also 550 is going to be ruff on the street no matter what

no i have not bought the car as is how it sat
but i knew the last owner and he bought the whole setup brand new.
i dont know how to adjust them can you clarify how to i though they were set at one setting.
if i can get more dampening out of them i think they will bounce less. my car is not slammed btw
I know koni's can do better.
yeah 550 is higher than normal but also running tophats and not too low. well not that that matters ive seen peopel run 600lb springs on them and they were fine for years. and they are new so they shouldn't.
and yeah rough is not an issue ive ridden on 12k springs and they were rough as in hard but no rebound. I dont want it bouncing up and down also i forgot to *** i have no sway bar. but have function 7 lower control arms and new bushings. if that makes a big difference which i dont think it would make too much of a difference. other than car being less stable. but yeah rough-fine bounce-garbage

Front to rear frequency balance is not right. Are KYBs digressive or progressive?
Out of the box Koni yellows are are their "design threshold" at 400 lb/in spring...according to the folks at TrueChoice. Even if they last, they will feel bouncy because they are not designed to work with rates higher than 400lb/in.
I had mine revalved and modified for bound and rebound adjustment...pricey but very effective.

Re: koni ground controls brand new but bouncy
I have ran OTS Koni before on those rates, and it will handle them for a short time, but not long. They are definately not made to handle those rates. I have had a few customers just like you who have ran different front and rear dampers which were not made to work together and in almost every case they all rode like complete ****. You got those rears maxed up for max rebound? If you do then there really isn't too much you can do pal.
