ground control insulator replacement
ive been having this thump noise on my integra for some time now, it mainly occurs when i roll over reflectors on the freeway. I found the problem to be the spring insulator supplied by GC. This is the rubber padding between the spring and top hat. I can feel holes on my insulator. spring is making metal to metal contact with top hat.
My setup is koni with gc and OEM top hat. This setup has 65k miles on it only...
is there any aftermarket ones or should i just buy ground control's?
for people who dont know what the spring insulator thing is.

i think mine will suffer the same fate soooner or later.

Re: ground control insulator replacement
If you're ok with polyurethane (which is what GC uses to my knowledge):

how about the front? the front is where mine are pretty worn out!
actually i thought about this......oem insulators are thicker than GC's...so wouldnt that change my ride height thus affecting my toe?

Re: ground control insulator replacement
However, since you'll be disassembling and reassembling the suspension to swap them, you'll want to align the car afterward anyway.

Call G/C tell them that you need new ones, here's the part #
G/C Spring isolator MO2770
*THEY WILL NOT SELL THEM IF YOU ALREADY DON'T OWN A KIT*

Re: ground control insulator replacement
Any time you replace, adjust, or remove and re-install suspension parts, it's a good idea to get the car aligned. Alignments are cheap compared to tires and gas.

I have a sneaking suspicion that this is what's causing noise in the ***-end of my hatch.
GC/Koni with OEM top-hat, been on the car for about 6 years.
Would you notice any difference in handling with these being ripped?
