Front wheel squeaking noise
#26
I HAD this very same problem on my civic. It did the same thing you've been saying yours has. When i turned it went away / when it was cold it wasn't there.. The problem with mine was the very inside of the brake shield. You said you cut yours off? I don't know if you took it off all the way if you just cut it. But i had to slide a flathead deep behind and get it some clearence. Its easy enough to try so give it a shot. It worked for me.

Re: (slow_cx)
I solved the problem - the caliper was still seized, and the stock mounting bracket was faulty so I replaced the entire unit and it solved the problem - thanks though

Update: My mechanic couldn't find the problem and being as the car doesn't make the noise when cold doesn’t help with trying to figure out where it's coming from. Went to Honda on Monday as the noise was persistent, but of course the car sat for most of the day and when the mechanic went for a drive he didn't hear anything... one mechanic said he heard it once but that was it and it wasn't long enough. So, now up to $1,090 and problem still not solved (I do have new wheels, brakes & pads though).
Thursday, noise loud and regular again. Went back to Honda and said the car is warmed up, noise is regular, and got the service manager to go out with me so he could hear it. He listened from inside, then outside the car while standing on both sides while I drove by. Definitely coming from the right rear wheel.
Back to the dealership we go, and the service techs were discussing it together and one mentioned that another S2000 came in with an odd squeak/rubbing rotational noise and it was a chunk of rust on the hub....
Left the car with them and two hours later they called and said that they took off the tire, rotors, hub, axel and found corrosion around the bearing. Removed corrosion, cleaned everything up and put her all back together and noise seems to be gone... it's only day 2 and I did a lot of driving this morning so fingers crossed.
Spent $1,220 and the actual cost to fix the problem was $131 for a bit of labour an shop supplies!!!
Good luck gang!

Re: (Dackonn)
Was it really the wheel bearing that went down? I am currently experiencing the exact same problem only in my Mitsubishi M24 Mirage. I've done all the possible checks.

Update...
I fixed my squealing problem. It was a worn tie rod end on the driver side that was causing the annoying squeal. Just remember to get the car align after changing out suspension components.

Re: Front wheel squeaking noise
Fixed Squeaking noise:
Here is what I found. I checked everything, also removed the guard that attaches to the disc.
First I removed the CV shaft (I have removed many in the past), I also replaced the lower ball joint. After putting everything back together it made the terrible noise. So after reading here I went to take off the CV shaft and look at when the CV shaft meets the wheel bearing. THE PROBLEM was the old front rubber ring of the old CV shaft was pressing up against the new CV shaft which made this noise.
So check to make sure there is no old parts it was BLACK there should be no black ring in the bearing location.
-Hope this helps
