Default EG brake master cylinder upgrade, worth it?

I've got a 1993 EG with gsr brakes in the front and rear and my stock 7/8 master cylinder. I've heard about the 15/16 upgrade from the 1991 ex 4 dr civic. Is this upgrade really worth it? Will I notice any difference at all. I've noticed my pedal travel is alot when pressing the brakes, but it might be because of air in the system from when I changed my rear caliper and because I need new brakes. Any positive/negative comments on this upgrade?

Thanks

I've heard about the GSR 1" as well but I don't want to go through all the trouble of fitting the lines, and picking up the integra brake booster for 1/16 more.

Yes, it worth it. But mind as welll upgrade the booster as well. Get it of from the 91-93 integra non-abs. Everything fit like stock.

Well, a larger master cylinder will do two things: reduce the amount of pedal travel required to lock up the brakes, and make the pedal feel stiffer at any given fluid pressure. The extra "foot" force required to build fluid pressure is the reason most people recommend you also upgrade the brake booster as well. What most people don't know is that your body physically responds much better to a stiff pedal allowing you to modulate the pedal much easier (it's easier to change your foot pressure than foot position). This in turn allows you to keep the car much closer to the limits without locking up the wheels. Remember that these cars were originally designed so that a 90lbs grandma could lock up the brakes. Chances are you will barely notice the difference...

I would suggest you upgrade to the 91 Civic EX master cylinder (15/16"). It's an easy bolt-on for your car. You won't have to mess with bending/flaring lines & it will bolt directly to your stock booster. It is also the exact proper size for the integra front brakes when not using an ABS system. It is the same size master cylinder that Honda used on all NON ABS integras.

As long as you are still able to lock up your brakes after the swap, you DON'T have to get a larger brake booster...
