DA brakes on an eg?
I have a eg hatch, and a 91 integra. The eg came with the disc brake conversion but there are no rotors or calipers on the car. I was thinking of taking the da rotors and calipers off and putting them on the eg. what all would i need to do to get them on the car. im doing a firewall swap soon so i just need to put the braking system on, brake lines are comming later dwn the road

Re: DA brakes on an eg?
yes, all rear discs...share the same rear calipers, same sized rear pads and 9.4" rear rotors.
*(ef civic si, crx si, 90-93 integra, 94-01 integra (except itr), 92-95 civic si, del sol si, del sol vtec, 99-00 civic si)
in your case, putting the da integra rear rotors and calipers onto your eg hatch (w/ rear discs) would bolt up and work perfectly fine since the parts are interchangeable. the brakes hoses from the da teg will work on your eg hatch as well.
DIY:
safely jack up the car (da teg)
take wheel off
take e-brake cable clip off
remove the brake hose (if you're taking the brake hose off the car from the hardline side, use a 10mm flare wrench or you'll risk stripping it)
remove caliper and pads
remove caliper bracket
impact hammer the two phillips retaining screws (if the screws are shot, you might have to drill em out)
remove rotor
at this point, i since you have everything apart, i would visually inspect the condition of your calipers. look at the piston seals to see if there's any leaks or tears. also, brackets tend to seize due to lack of grease. at this point, i would also check the boots for rips as well. if your rear rotors are ancient, just stop by a parts store and order, they're easy to find and inexpensive to replace. good time to grease up the bolts that hold the caliper & bracket together. install on the eg hatch is the reverse of removal. bleed your brakes

Re: DA brakes on an eg?
Reason being, is that if you're going to use the Teg's larger rotors (ONE OF THE REASONS WHY YOUR DOING THE SWAP) with the larger Teg calipers.
BUT, I've also heard of using your stock knuckles with the smaller rotors, swapping the caliper/bracket, and it working just fine, but never done this before, so not exactly sure if this is true or not.

Re: DA brakes on an eg?
you can try to call fastbrakes to see if they have a bracket that would fit on your eg hatch, so da teg calipers will fit on your DX front knuckles.
unfortunately, the 90-93 integra front knuckles aren't suited for your eg civic (they work great on 88-91 civic/crx). in your case, if you were looking to swap knuckles in your eg, you'd want to get 94-01 intgera front knuckles. *the da & dc front calipers (not knuckles) are interchangeable

Re: DA brakes on an eg?
you're saying to use "stock civic knuckles w/ smaller rotors, swapping caliper/bracket, and it working just fine."
the disclaimer, "never done this before, so not exactly sure this or true of not" isn't very reassuring.
seriously...stop posting mis-info

roastbeefrichie,
Not posting "mis-info", just what I have read by others in other threads, and in other tech articles from other forums.
My "disclaimer" was just to let him know that, as I said, this info had been posted elsewhere, but that I had never personally done this mod so therefore I did not know if it was, as you said, "mis-info" or not.

if the OP is interested in swapping out knuckles, for the best alignment results, use 94-01 integra (10.3" front rotors/ 17CL14VN front calipers).
OP, it is possible to keep your civic DX knuckles and upgrade to ITR calipers (stamped 17CL15VN) on 10.3" front rotors (found on 90-01 integra 90-00 ex, 99-00 si). once you acquire the ITR calipers, you'll need to seperate the bracket (stamped 23T, 25T or 28T) and get it milled 2-3mm (or an 1/8"). with a milled bracket (stamped 23T, 25T or 28T), this will allow you to use nsx front calipers & legend gs 2-pot front calipers as well. down the road, with the milled brackets, you take your brake system & upgrade to bigger knuckles and uses an 11" rotor (prelude rotors re-drilled to 4X100 or fastbrakes.com).

roastbeefrichie,
SORRY, first off, that I didn't make myself clear about the knuckle swap. I knew that he could not use the teg knuckles that he currently has.
