Default Coilover Kit replacement/installation DIY

I just bought an 02 Rsx and need to get a new coilover kit. I have a budget of 1000 and have no idea what to get. I just want a smooth ride for once! That budget is all the money I have that is why I need to learn to do it on my own. I would appreciate some input and help from anyone. I'm just starting to learn about cars and I will definitely be helping others out on here when I have proper experience. Thank you!

Hey buddy,
You can get a really good and reliable set of coilovers for that budget. All coilover systems can be installed directly in your driveway and I would actually encourage it especially if you never done it before. It's a great learning experience to explore your vehicle. They are very simple to do and there are really not that many ways to screw up haha.

There are lots and lots of options in that price range. Depending on what you want, you can choose different coilovers. You mentioned a smooth ride, so make sure when you buy coilovers that they are "dampening" or that you can adjust the damper. I've owned both with and without this adjustment and I can tell you that the coilovers with it rode a lot smoother. Good luck!

This is, somewhat, useless advice.

A good damper without damping adjustment (dampening means to make wet), is going to ride better than a crappy one with tons of adjustments that do little to nothing.

If you want smooth, you want mild spring rates and appropriate dampers for that situation (adjustable or not). Mild spring rates means you don't want low, which is fine since the RSX is only going to handle worse and worse as it is lowered more than 1/2" from stock.
