Default Car ALIGNMENT, is it really align or they say so ?

Just got my spts at americas tire and i align it at a shop for 50 bucks... kinda worry about it though, i only pay 50 so im not sure if its legit. He said if the car is lower it well never be prefect even with adjustable camber kit. Is this true? I dont want camber wear on my tires... i had wear before cuz i did the align at a cheap shop. Anyways on telling the align is good? .....

o, after he align it I kinda want to lower the front about 3 thread lines from the coilovers... would this affect the align ... do i have to have it redo if i decied to lower my car more?

thanks

you wont get adverse tire wear if you get your toe set to 0 all the way around, even if your camber isn't in spec, you lowered your car, you have entirely different spring rates, why do the stock align specs apply? you need different parameters for what you are running and stock doesn't cut it when you are lowered.

toe is what matters.

and when you change ride heights, you change toe.

think about that for a while.

Toe will effect the steering wheel positioning, and it will feather the edges of the tires if its off. The Camber is what will ruin the life of your tires fastest. The lower you drop the car, the more camber you will have, this needs to be corrected. Stock alignment specs WILL work on lowered cars. The steering is designed to work the the FACTORY spec alignment angels, ride height wont effect this. we do quite a few lowered honda's and such, and havent had a comeback for years.

i disagree, especially in the case of hondas with double wishbone suspension.

toe is the killer.

when you "fixed" camber, you fixed the toe. which is probably why you dont get comebacks.

i "fix" my toe and never "fix" my camber, and still get even wear.

when my toe is bad, and my camber is good (stock ride height), i get uneven wear.

im not arguing about this. im sure of this. you are free to disagree.

i'm not trying to trash anybody. However, in my personal experience, when a car comes in, not only honda's, but since his is H-T, I will only speak of them, and the camber is out, the toe is usuially out too. This is true, like you stated. You are also right about the toe coming in with the camber, However, putting the camber back into spec doesnt ALWAYS bring the toe into spec, it all depends on how bad it is when it comes in. My basic point is, which I should of been more clean in stating is, a PROPER alignment is deffinatly worth the money, and can maximize the life of your tires.

Adjusting toe is part of the alignment. Just remind them to set it to 0º.

I have about -2.5º of camber all around and the toe was set at 0.01º all around after alignment.
