Awesome article, when I upgrade my hatch to Si, I'll do my best to do a write up and pics. (Noob). Again thanks for sharing the knowledge!

Re: BrakeExpert's Brake Chart Thread - Civic Brake Upgrades for EF, EG, EK and Integr
My friend and i did the s2000 caliper and brackets with rsx-s redrilled rotors up front on a 93 integra da. it did bolt on directly but the caliper bracket mounts needed about 1/8 to 3/16 machined off the surface, centering the bracket and caliper on the rotors. we didn't machine it so far and just ground off about 1/8th off the INSIDE back side of the caliper mount (behind rotor, facing back rotor face) so it would clear the discs. this was done because i didn't have access to a machine shop and car had to be ready for a track day and grinding the inside is not a precision job nor has to be perfectly level, where machining the mounting face of the bracket has to be perfectly level with the original face.
brakes did work perfectly on the track without a glitch and on stock s2k pads without ducting ran 5 15 minute sessions with breeze, no signs of excessive heating, and pads wore minimally.
the risk of not machining the bracket and leaving it like we currently have is that when the pads wear out the outside(facing out, seen through the wheel) brake pad can fall/slide out of the bracket as the gap between it and the disc is too big on that side.

Re: BrakeExpert's Brake Chart Thread - Civic Brake Upgrades for EF, EG, EK and Integr
Hi All, I have a 03 Acura TL and have NO fluid going to the rear right wheel. (I had No fluid going to both rear wheels prior to replacing the proportioning valve, after replacement I noticed the right rear still not getting fluid). Upon installing the new prop valve and after bleeding, I did get brake fluid to the wheel and I though my problem had been resolved. However after only one day I noticed the pedal feeling strange again ( hard and high). I pulled the same right rear wheel , bled and again noticed No fluid to this wheel again . Cant understand why it would be fine for one day and then back to same problem soon after. (calipers are new and not stuck) Im thinking master cylinder but if master was bad wouldn't I also not get fluid from one other wheel? Any help is appreciated.
Thank you
Frank

Hi Frank,
This is not the correct thread or forum for your question. You need to start a brand new thread here:
Acura TL, RL & ZDX - Honda-Tech
good luck, someone in there should be able to point you in the right direction.

Re: BrakeExpert's Brake Chart Thread - Civic Brake Upgrades for EF, EG, EK and Integr
ok so after reading this thread i just want to say thanks for all the info! I realized the issue to my "spongy" pedal was improper bleeding sequence. The only thing i wasn't able to figure out is why my wheel now sticks out further than when i had my rear drum setup on. the car is a 98 cx hatch and i upgraded to what i believe is a 93 ex rear disc setup. although i went and put 99 si calipers and rotors on. Could it be that the hub is no good and needs to be replace?

Re: BrakeExpert's Brake Chart Thread - Civic Brake Upgrades for EF, EG, EK and Integr
So I have type r 4×114 brakes and was wondering how to find new bearings, rotors, pads and calipers. I'd rather use stock stuff for pads, rotors and calipers. From what car should I be searching parts from? Thanks in advance

Re: BrakeExpert's Brake Chart Thread - Civic Brake Upgrades for EF, EG, EK and Integr
The front calipers, pads and bearings are from any 94 Integra for the front. Rotors are not standard from any other Honda in America in size and must be either sourced or machined, PM me if you need to go this route.
The rear calipers and pads are also from any 94 Integra. The hub/bearing is unique to that car. The rotors are also not able to be found in America, also can be machined to be made.

Sorry if this has been answered but i have a 95 civic with 99 si rear disc. I was looking to buy some Goodridge G- stop brake lines for my civic. Will the 92-95 civic with rear disc NO ABS work for this setup?

All lines for all 92-95 rear disc Civics are the same, regardless of ABS. Same goes for 96-00 Civic or 94-01 Integra (except Type R). Any of the the three should be physically interchangeable though.

Re: BrakeExpert's Brake Chart Thread - Civic Brake Upgrades for EF, EG, EK and Integr
2010 SI front brake upgrade question....have different information on what fits and what does not fit and need to be sure as I narrow it down. What year TSX calipers and rotors fit? What year TL Type S rotors and calipers fit? Wheels are currently 17 inch and I understand I may need to upgrade to 18 inch wheels. I have searched but nothing concrete. If there is an existing link, please point me to it.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

1998 1sr gen CRV, what calipers are an upgrade with stock rotor? Is there a bigger rotor that will fit as well?

Hi, might be easier to just ask. I have a 92 Civic DX, I want to eliminate my electric vacuum boost and booster and just have manual brakes. Which master would be the best to use? Yes, the car is electric.

Most of the bay tuck companies (Rywire, Chasebays, Wireworx (maybe?), etc) are selling booster eliminator plates now. Typically you'll have to use an aftermarket master cylinder and may also have to re-plumb to a single circuit to convert.

Re: BrakeExpert's Brake Chart Thread - Civic Brake Upgrades for EF, EG, EK and Integr
Hello Guys
Just a quick doubt
I own an Ek4 97. I´m already using the 17cl15vn on the front and i really need to upgrade the rear brakes
The 9CLP14S caliper found on Accords should be direct fit? I already know that i must use my ek4 e-Brake guide.
I´ve already did a quick research and seems to exist variations for the same caliper 9CLP14S. Is that it?
I´m from Brazil and it´s going to be really easy to find 9CLP14S from accords here. I just don´t know what to do about the rotors....
Thanks guys!

Re: BrakeExpert's Brake Chart Thread - Civic Brake Upgrades for EF, EG, EK and Integr
Not quite. The one you have to use is the one that came on the RSX and EP3 Civic Si. You will have to swap you arms over and swap the calipers left to right, which results in having to bleed them off the car since the bleeders end up low on the caliper.
Rotors will be EP3 Civic Si... early years. I forget which year they switched to five lug.

Great Thanks
Is there any other model of 9CLP14S there doesn´t need to install swaped with the bleeders facing down?

Re: BrakeExpert's Brake Chart Thread - Civic Brake Upgrades for EF, EG, EK and Integr
Nope. The ITR/CTR is the only one that fits 100% correctly. I spent hours sifting through photos and diagrams of all of the variants of that caliper, RSX/EP3 are the only one that will physically work. You can find ITR/CTR ones used for about $300. Reman are just about impossible to find (they'll be listed but are out of stock when you call), or carry a gigantic core charge... at least here in the US.
In hindsight I wish I had just gotten a set of ITR ones and rebuilt them myself. I spent months of free time digging around looking for alternatives, swapping brackets around and test fitting, even grinding down pads (trying to make 7CLP13S calipers work on 9CLP14S brackets with ITR sized pads.... don't bother). It was a monumental waste of time and resources and I spent more money than just buying the right **** first.

I have a 1990 ed2 sedan would I be able to use the mb 5 door rear arms for a discs upgrade and would the ek front hubs fit to mine or can I just use the calipers and discs?

Buy a complete changeover from a JDM importer. CTR if you want to keep your stock axles or ITR if you want to go with the larger outers.

What's up. I am not affiliated with this company and just passing a long info on new parts. Delete if it violates the tou policy.
They make brackets that allow for the mounting of Porsche Boxster brake calipers on dx and ex/si knuckles.
