not sure if I am reading this right or not. I did not see a particular specific chart for ef's so ill just go ahead and ask

I have a 91 4dr lx civic. I have a 94 dc rolling shell in my driveway.

Considering the rear brake swap

I thought I read in there that I can just take the spindle off of the dc with the torx bolts and the one 24mm bolt, take the one off the civic and just bolt the dc spindle directly on, changing the brake lines. Is that correct ?

and will the e-brake cables swap over from the dc as well.

pardon my ignorance, I have done this swap multiple times on multiple cars over the past 10 years but have been out of the honda modding game for a few years and Im getting old, therefore losing my memory of the knowledege I used to have of interchangeable parts.

thank you sir.

I have the 4x114 setup as well. Would it work with the nsx caliper or the legend dual piston?

easy and effective brake set up, i just did 98-01 accord v6 calipers, 280mm mini cooper rotors on integra knuckles. cheap and gives you 11" rotors with the bigger caliper/pad combo

Currently in the process of doing a rear integra ls/gsr disc swap and legend front brakes. Car is a 00' CX hatch. I would like to know what brake lines I will need for front and rear. Can I use my stock front lines? I will be purchasing new 00' SI emergency cables from local parts store. Can anyone tell me if they come with the two hole steel bracket that bolts to caliper? Will I need to venture back to junkyard to pick theses up?

Well... with much searching the web I found out that I need integra rear lines. Thanks honda-tech.com. This feature called "search" is amazing. Except when it won't recognize "SI" as a searchable word. Still need advice on front lines. Maby I should use that search option.

you're gonna have a hard time finding them in the US. i believe they are the same dimensions as the mini cooper rotors but thicker and with the rotor screw holes.

I've contacted ebc about them just waiting on a respond. Or I can pay the $80 international shipping lol. But with the mini rotors the outer most part of the pad sits beyond the rotor from what I've read, do you have this issue?

Awesome information. . .so great to have folks that have been there done that around to guide us noobs!

My son and I are building his 96 DX and are looking at a brake swap next since most of the hardware comes from a junk yard or someone parting a car. He is on a bit of a budget (i.e. X-mas money & no job til the summer).

Questions:

I know there are a couple of 98-01 Integras that I can pull parts from, but am a bit confused about the EX/Si knuckle piece. It seems like I need parts from both of these cars in order to do the swap?

Can I remove the entire rear spindle off the Integra and replace the DX rear spindles/drums, etc.? Seems like your chart and further instruction say this is doable.

Looks like the simplest upgrade for his car would be the EX or Integra swap so that we don't have to get in to machining parts. We are going to autocross the car and will upgrade pads, wheels & tires this spring. Does this sound reasonable?

Again AWESOME information!

Thanks,

Jim

The mini rotors are in fact 2mm smaller in diameter, so you will have 1mm of pad overhang. If you are concerned with it, it's nothing that you can't prevent by grinding that tiny bit off of the pad.

IDK which is worse, the overhang or redrilled rotors.. I'm leanin towards the overhang, because my car will be tracked.

got a pair of legend 2p calipers today for $35.

since the chart says use 23t brackets for them and my crv uses 23t brackets stock im thinking the calipers are a direct bolt on without any mods.

Neither of those is a big deal. If you're going to be using them on track, try to find a thicker rotor. I think the mini's are only 22mm, but I'm not sure... I'm pretty positive that they are thinner than the itr rotors though. Heat capacity (which correlates to mass) is more important than diameter for a track rotor.

I think I am going to order the rotors spychu is using from the MG, they are 2mm thicker than the ITR rotors according to EBC's site.. and 200 shipped isn't terrible coming from Euro land, especially for the peace of mind to not have to deal with redrilling etc..

what rear brake upgrade would you recommend to keep the brake balance correct if you are using the 11.1 rotors and 2 pot gs calipers on the front with a 40/40 prop valve

sorry Biggie for late response.
I didn't have to mill bracket, rotors are not identical as itr/prelude, itr/prelude rotors thickness is 23mm , D1111 MG rotors are 25mm.

I just had to put 0.8-0.9mm washer between bracket and knuckle to center rotor in bracket, without washer external bracket part touches rotor.

Those rotors fit perfectly to hub, center hole is same as in civic, they are 4x100, and assembly holes are same as in civic rotors.

There is no issue with pads sitting beyond the rotors as in Mini rotors.

Everyone from our polish civic club who are driving with 11.1" 4x100 front brakes are using MG rotors

You can choose EBC D1111 standard rotors, EBC GD1111 drilled and grooved, EBC USR1111 grooved , Quinton Hazell BDC5485 stadnard, Mintex MDC1501 standard, Mintex grooved but I forgot symbol, all available on UK ebay.

Using 11.1" rotor with 2 pot caliper on the front and 10.2" rear rotor brake balance is fine, there is no issue with rear braking.

Before current setup I used 11.1" front rotor with 1 pot Prelude caliper and stock rear EK4 9.4" rotor, brake balance was fine too.

i read the chart, and i just wanna double check n make sure im doing this right...
i wanna upgrade front brakes and rear brakes from 96 dx to 00 si

for the fronts i need

Knuckle, Bearing, hub, axles and halfshaft, calipers, rotors, pads, and caliper hangars correct?

and is that it for the front conversion

and the rear i need

Trailing arms, upper control arms, compensator arms at the front end of the trailing arms, rotors, calipers, brackets, brake pads, shims, e brake cable, brake booster, master cylinder, proportioning valve, and steel brake lines.. correct?

is that every single piece for the front and rear conversion? and will everything bolt up without having to do any mods?

I would like for everythin to be from a 00 si...

you do not have to swap axles.

you can swap over your rear upper control arms and toe adjusters. they are the same from 96 to 00.

you can reuse your stock booster.
