96 accord 4dr suspension questions
Hey guys. First off, great informative forum....thx for letting me hang out
I have a 96 accord as stated, but i'm not really big in to performance but want to go a little more aggressive than factory.
Problem is, I have a competition sound system installed and with the weight added in trunk, on factory spring/shock setup, I dropped about 1.5" in the rear. I installed a pair of drop zone coilovers with the factory shocks to level out car. I know, bad idea now that they have been on for 6mo or so, it rides like a damn go cart and shocks are blown in front now.
I want to go to a spring like eibach or something that isnt a coilover, but will the ride be level with the added weight in the trunk? I have a friend that has same car and similar setup stereo wise, and he has the eibach/tokico combo and loves it. I'm just worried about it sitting low going to a lowered spring vs a coilover setup. The clanking in the rear on the coilovers is driving me nuts as well. It may just be the crappy dz coilovers, but not sure. thats why I am asking for your guys help

Re: 96 accord 4dr suspension questions (slickonetoo)
I have somewhat of the same dilemma. With a body kit and added weight in the trunk by my audio equipment, I can't really afford to have my car any lower than it already is, but I still want a better suspension. So, if I were you, I'd get new springs (even OEM if you want and are concerned about the car height) and get some new struts... all four.
That's what I'm doing at least... I'll let you know how it turns out.
