does anyone know if its illegal to drive with a broken windshield?..im buying a winter beater..the car had the hood fly open and it broke the windshield, messed up the hood and dented the foor a bit..the windshield is still intact and no water gets through it..from the pics ive seen it looks like it would have pretty good visibility if i were to drive it..im just not sure if its illegal or not..i dont wanna be driving home my new beater and get pulled over because of a semi broken/more then cracked windshield and get a ticket and have the car towed...anyone know the illinois laws fairly good or have any personal experience?

I drove around with a cracked one for over 6 months, but I wouldn't risk it.
