H23 VTEC ran... Now it won't...
Ok so I got everything put together today and started the bitch up... she purred like a kitten and then she started spewing oil out of an AN fitting in the cylinder head... I thought it was a plug but apparently was a port into the head... Once the pressure built up, oil came out of the fitting... So I immediately shut the car off and then replaced the fitting with a plug... Now the car will not start... I'm not sure what the fitting was there for or if it was even stock because I bought the cylinder head used but my car ran but now will not... If anyone has any ideas please let me know...

That doesn't make any sense, an oil leak wouldn't cause a car to not start again.
What happens when you turn the key, have fuel PSI? spark? knock any wires loose?
Could be many things....

a) Starting system failure
Does the car crank?
Enough voltage?
b) Fuel system failure
Adequate fuel PSI?
Gas in the tank?
c) Ignition system failure
Is there spark?
Cam/Dizzy timing...
d) Wiring issues...
Could be many things, I'm not there so its hard to say without being there...

a)The car cranks... Like I said, I had it running a few hours ago and then 10 minutes later could not get it to start...
b)I don't know how to check the fuel pressure... But the car was running so I don't know... Has like a 1/4 tank...
c)I'm assuming there is spark since the car was running....
Maybe I need a timing gun to check the dizzy timing???
But like I said it WAS running, granted it was only for like 20 seconds but it did NOT die, I shut if off...

you can't assume anything when fixing engine problems, either it has spark or not. Start by checking the basics, battery voltg.starter, strtr solenoid, ect, ect. You need more detailed info on basic components for anyone to help. Thats a bad *** swap, though...much respect

well how do i check for fuel pressure and how do i make sure im getting enough spark? I just realized I am still using spark plugs from my h23, i didnt think they would be that different from h22 ones... could that be a problem?

hey man im having the same problems. mines started and ran fine then i got the exhaust done and it doesnt hardly wanna idle. i got the h23/vtec from the accord sir wagon in japan. could the an fitting possibly be the oil feed for a turbo that the person before u used?? if u dont have a plug checker/light then you *could* just pull the plug and reattach the wire and crank briefly to see if it arches. have someone help ya and be careful where you lay the plug. or use a screwdriver. but this way you check the plug and wire at the same time.
