My accord lx is only at 175k, and it's been in my family since it rolled off the lot so I know it's been maintained and never overheated or anything... This thread gives me confidence that she'll last much longer! I feel like some mysterious force is trying to tell me to just pop a turbo in there and boost away!

92 Accord EX with 230K. Just replaced the distributor, now the starter and clutch or slave cylinder went out. I'm trying to get the car running for my son for graduation- then engine purrs like a kitten still!

Got 91 accord ex with almost 257k. Bought it with that much. As far as i know everything motor and transmission is original. runs perfect except a TCU problem

My mother has a 94 EX coupe with 358,xxx on the odometer. It stopped counting in 2004 but given her daily commute to and from work we estimate it to have over 500k on the clock now. Never had a lick of work other than routine maintenance with oem parts. This was my main reasoning behind buying a 96 EX Sedan for myself which just turned 200k last month.

My 1st accord was 92 lo and had 226,000 and ran good.
2nd) 96 accord had 215,000 and ran really well. Driven hard alot never any problem.
3) 95 accord lx 5-speed had 147,000 on odometer but car lot said previous owner changed it and really has over 200,000 and it ran very well.
4) 01 accord 5-speed ulev vtec has 207,000 and runs good. Turbo project.
All have been sedans
Thinking about buying an 2000 accord v6 coupe to drive while doing project on 2001 accord.

w/ maintence and not throwing 20psi into the stock block, that bitch should last you forever.....F22s can sit at redile for days b4 theyd end up conking out....i once saw a honda w/ a million miles on the einge w/o a rebuild (online somewhere)

95 Ex 5-speed currently @ 417,000. Original engine and tranny. Clutch changed once. The key is preventive maintenance.

My 94 5spd LX Accord just rolled 103,000 miles. Since i bought my first car, i like to upgrade my car often as i get a little more cash. I was wondering how much reasonbly longer i can hold on to this car, since there is nothing major wrong with it. My reasoning is that the more maintenace work i do on it, the harder it is to sell it and for example get a upgraded model accord. I have changed the CV joints, which usually go about 100k miles. I now have lifetime Alignment on my car and lifetime balance on my tires. The clutch still feels fine. If i have to change the timing belt, might as well i keep the car. Am I in a detrimental treat already to change the timing belt since it just gone over 100k miles?

Are you friggin kidding me? That Accord is just broken in @ 100k miles bro. My 1990 has 300k on it and it isn't slowing down anytime soon. There are loads of upgrades avaiable for yours as well. Doing the timing belt is an important maintenece item that YOU NEED to do. Don't let that go. If that timing belt breaks, so goes that engine. Other than religous oil changes, timing belts are the key to long term life of your vintage Accord.
The older Accords are like fine wine. The older the better,
I am OK with doing maintenance work on it, but just want it to still be reliable.
