1994 honda accord lx..how many quarts of auto tranny fluid?

I just got this car...its a 1994 honda accord LX 4 door...Just wondering how many quarts of auto tranny fluid it takes? The damn thing didn't come with a manual.

also, I am wondering how big that fuel tank is? How many max gallons?

2.5 qts of ATF and a 17 gallon tank

youre just doing a tranny fluid change right? if so yea 2.5qt

i got some mobil 1 synthetic ATF...kinda expensive..but i figured if its only 2.5 quarts..why not.

Also, is the gas tank max gallons really 17? I filled up yesterday and it was bone empty...the max gallons i could put in was 13.5..weird.

yea it is 17 full tank, but the Light comes on around 13-14 to remind you you are low, and Accords tend to have that problem, the gas meter is a little screwy, you can get it fixed for almost 100-150$'s its called the fuel sending unit...

on my car by 150 the meter sits on empty already but my low light comes on at 250... so yea i gotta depend on mileage to know the exact amount...

yea, if you're going to drain and refill it 2 times

some members do it 3x in one service

others do the drain - refill one time when they also do an oil change

others change it once a year

reason: these don't really have a traditional transmission pan/gasket

It is not recommended to put ANYTHING other than Honda ATF into your transmission!!! I'm not speaking from personal experience here (as I have always used Honda ATF)....but there seems to be a very strict consensus on the matter.
On the other hand, I have recently changed over to the new Honda DW1 transmission fluid and can say from my own experience it has made a noticable difference in a good way. good luck.
