Default jdm b16

i am goin to get a jdm b16a3 i think it is. and i live in san diego. i heard so many things about these jdm's not being able to pass smog. i heard if you change the intake manifold, and use a usdm ecu, and make sure all the sensors work then ill be able to ref it. i dont wanna waste any money if it wont be all legit. i need to swap it into my 92 cx hb so if you guys know anything let me know please. i tried to search here, jdm civic, and also jdm universe, i cant seem to get any results thanks.

If it's a B16A3, it's not a JDM engine, it's from a US market Del Sol, and as long as you have proof of buying it legitimately from a legit source, then you shouldn't have any issues getting it to pass smog.
