Turbo Opinion!! GT35R .63A/R on stock b18c1
hey guys,
New to this site, and kind of just decided to go boost without much research. so pretty much just want to know your thoughts on my setup or if I should change anything
I have b18c1 in a 96 civic hatch, stock internals only a skunk2 intake manifold and throttle body. also stock gsr transmission (NO LSD)
My turbo set up consists of:
Garret GT35R .63A/R dual bearing turbo
Tial Wastegate and BOV
3" downpipe
Ramhorn Manifold
3" skunk2 exhaust (straight pipe, no cat)
treadstone intercooler
1000cc injectors
its going to be tuned on ECtune, by dynamotorsports (very good tuner from what I have heard)
I'm also a bit of a noob so forgive me if I left some things out that factor in.
My goal is about 300-350whp, I would have gotten a smaller turbo but I got the gt35 for a good deal, pretty much same amount I would have paid for a gt30 so I jumped on it, but now im wondering if its overkill? am I going to snap all my **** up in my tranny and motor? or will it be fine, just a bit laggier because of its size?
Thanks!

Just an fyi...I'm running a GT3076r on a b18c with built bottom end and an upgraded top end on 15lbs putting down 424 whp. If I were you I would definitely invest in a traction bar, it has taken every bit of wheel hop away. Good luck with your build bro!!

Breaking stuff internally will depend on your tuner and your right foot, and breaking tranny parts, well that will pretty much boil down to how you drive it.
I would say that turbo is huge for your power desires, especially with a stock bottom end, and will probably have a big lag compared to something like a Gt30.

Hey these type of calculators helped me out quite a bit when I was first getting into turbo cars. Play around with the numbers and dig into parts you don't understand. You will learn alot just making these make sense. I also bought ...its sort of a go-to/begginers bible of sorts for learning about forced induction.

a GT35 is definitely overkill/inefficient for your hp goals.
