Brake upgrade

Re: Brake upgrade (jdmbike)
You would have to change the whole hub assembly for the front.. The accords have a hub over rotor design (that sucks ***) and all other honda's have a rotor over hub design (that kicks ***!) You would have to change the hubs and maybe some suspension... We are currently looking into this on my buddy's accord...

Re: Brake upgrade (jdmbike)
I've heard that your can take the front brake calipers off of the 3.0 CL and the rotors off of the TL, and they'll fit... but i really don't have the details on this conversion... I'll work on finding more info for you (and me)....

My Powerslot rotors after one day on a 1.1 mile circuit:
Note slots are mostly gone. If you race do not get cross drilled or sloted rotors!

Slots are for looks, they will NOT brake any better than solids.. They will only break better Your pads are what helped you so much.
I bought POWERSLOT rotors all around and decent pads. My car stops on a dime.
GO that route.. you'll be happy trust me.

Powerslot good? I think not. I went through a set of Powerslot rotors in 4K miles... then i got x-drilled rotors... and those too warped after 9K miles... fact is that in Accords, they're so heavy that when heavy braking is applied, and if there's rain, then warping can occur (lowered Accords have very little room to get rid of water in the wheel wells when it rains). So, I'm tired of trying aftermarket brakes, hands down, they can't handle the elements. So, I'm trying to use other Honda parts... ones that are better quality, etc.

Try OEM replacement brembo rotors.. http://collettimotorsports.com That is what all us "track racers" use

Re: Brake upgrade (4doorH22)
The rotors I bought from Autozone were put through hell this weekend and stood up great. Only cost $40. Pads are what you need to concentrate on. Stay away from slotted and cross drilled rotors, those spaces are a great place to collect pad and rotor wear.

Re: Brake upgrade (4doorH22)
Last Thursday my brakes began to squeal unbelievably. Not the usual indicator squeal. I thought, do to the wear on the rotors that they had gone bad so I went to Autozone and got el cheapos. Ended up being that the brakes had crystalized under the heat and fell off the backing plate. It also collect the wear from the rotor and the pad in the slot in the middle of cheap pads, producing an unusual squeal. I eneded up putting on the rotors Saturday because I was not going to the track with those pieces o' crap I had on, so I put the Autozones on with a set of Carbotech Panther Plus pads. No brake fade all day long and I was getting hard on them(90= mph to 30mph in about 50 feet at the hardest) So now I have two sets of rotors for when these go. It worked out pretty good. It seems I now have two of everything almost. Rotors, pads, intake, engine(hopefully Corey) tires and rims. When are you going to come to another track event?
My Brembos showed up Monday in a RedLine oil box. That is where they will stay for a while too.

Slots in rotors vent the gas from the pad's friction. Venting the gas out allows for cooler and better braking. I'm surprised you didn't know this seeing as how you talk the talk.
BTW: I've had my powerslots for 2 years now with no warpage, and they're still perfect. Still stop on a dime.
Whoever isn't happy with em, must have something else going wrong. Cuz mine rule. Maybe a sh*tty install. hehe

2 years now and not a single problem. I drive fast all the time.. and brake hard. That's why I upgraded the rotors in the first place. My stock one's would fade everytime. These never do.
