i got a turbo kit for my d16 and the turbine wheel has a number 203-59 on it
and the compressor side has 3057 on it. I was told it is a t3 and it seems logical the compressor wheel is a 57 trim also when i play with the shaft it wiggles a little bit ( I have to push hard to make it move) when the turbine blades move it doesnt touch the walls, comes close but doesnt touch. I would say it has very little movement and it requires some pushing to make the shaft "play" is this anything to be concerned about?

I don't think so, how long has the turbo sat? if it hasn't been used in a while it will not spin freely it is called shalack (sp?) that has built up on the shaft once you start playing with it alot or put it on the car it will spin freely after that, a little shaft play is normal don't worry, if you have a BB and you have shaft play then that is bad.
hope taht helped.

that makes me feel more comfortable.
So is there a special place to look for the turbo sizing numbers? there is nothing on the face of the compressor housing, just on the backside where the shaft housing joining the two turbines is.

the A/r ratios are usually found stamped inside the inlet of the turbine, might have to scrape some crap off to see it. A/r can be found inside the oulet of the compressor cover also. To find out if it is a T3 flange just measure the opening in the turbine inlet, 95% of them are the same it should be 1.83" X 2.34".
There was some post on here about determining the wheel trim by measuring the minor dia with the housings still on. I can't find it or remember what the concensus was, anyone know what i'm talking about?
