How much longer is the engine suppose to smoke after changing the head gasket?
I just changed my head gasket because the other one blew. When I replaced it, I checked the head for warpage, and it was straight and I used a stock honda head gasket with the copper spray. I torqued the arp head studs to 70lbs and started the car, and it is still smoking.
Can I just retorque the headstuds or will I need to replace the headgasket?

70 is fined. Please, list your set-up. Check the compression. What color is the smoke?

It's a stock b18b, haven't put the turbo back on yet. Compression is fine and the smoke is white. There is milky white stuff under the oilcap, but my coolant is not overflowing, and no oil in the coolant. Could it be the residue left from before?

if it's a new studs, then you need to drive it for about a few hundred miles and re-torque it.

if the gasket was leaking badly before, you could still have debris, oil, or coolant in the exhaust system.

the milky white under the oil cap happens to everyone ive seen... its not an indication of headgasket being blown.

this is the right answer... as long as you are not loosing coolant outa your radiator
also stock honda head gaskets do not need to be retorqued.

Well, I just retorqued it and it's still smoking. I really hope it goes away cuz I'm ready to give up, and get out. Anyways, thanks guys.

Same here, whenever I replace a blown head gasket, the car never smoked...something tells me you've got other issues...
