here is the FITV right under the TB
here is a closer shot of it its only found on OBD0 manifolds from what i know of, and it controls the idle when its warm and when it is cold, and it changes it depends on the warmth of the coolnant, so basically whne ur coolant is warm (engine is warm) and idle goes down Modified by Nerologic at 8:51 AM 5/8/2004

ya you can use any FITV, i used one from a prelude, all i had to do is change the end cap for the coolant lines because it was different, that why in the pic the end is dirtier then the rest of it

I don't have an FITV. I put on a skunk2 mani with a 68mm TB and GOODBYE FITV. So now when I start my car I just hold the gas pedal down and let it idle at 1200 for a one minute before I drive it.
Only really cold morning starts I would always let it idle for 1 minute before I drove it anyway. That's with it in neutral and clutch engaged so I can get the tranny gears lubed as well. BTW: removing the FITV for me didn't change my hot idle.. only my cold idle. |
