NGK V-power are fine, get the ones for an LS(ZFR5F-11), it's cheaper. The sohc vtec has special part number to it that cost more. I wouldn't waste my money on Iridium.

if it's a boosted application I believe the NGK part number is something like the BEFRS911...I know it begins with the BEF truncation...they're a colder range plug that most street boosted drivers use...

if it's a N/A application you can go either way pretty much...the Denso Iridium's are a nice plug (hard to come by if you're not in much of a performance shop area). I've used them a few times and was pretty happy with them...the other option is the NGK Iridium ones as well, these ones I had no issues at all with...they burned nicely, great spark and I pretty much stuck with them for quite some time. Again, it's all preference...if you REALLY need the big spark and higher heat operating range then dump the cash on the iridiums...otherwise, just drop in your standard set of NGK's!

Oh, and changing your plugs...again, depends on application...I religiously change my plugs every 3-5k km's and change the wires seasonally...if you're boosting hard I'd say maybe just keep an eye on them more often than not and go by your gut feeling.

If just average driving, I usually change the plugs in the spring, part of the yearly tune-up and look over.

Change plugs every 10,000. The $6 you play for the plugs, you'll get 3x that back in saved gas mileage.

I would highly recommend using only NGK or Denso plugs, and only OEM Honda plug wires. If you are NA, use the plug listed on the sticker in your engine bay.

These parts have actually been dyno tested to be the best for your Honda engine.

Honda ignition components can be very picky about plugs and wires sometimes. A lot of people can get away with running other plugs and wires just fine, but I've seen many cars with them come into the Honda dealership running like ****.

What Mista Bone said is correct though, just change your plugs often and you really won't see any plug-related problems. This is why I don't believe in buying fancy, expensive plugs - I just get regular copper plugs and change them often. And on a side note to his analogy, I also don't believe in buying fancy, expensive synthetic oil since I change it religiously every 3000 miles or less - synthetic would just be a waste of money since natural oil comes out just as clean with that mileage.

thanks for the words, but I have to thank my grandfather.

Anyone can drive a car, but it takes SOMEONE to maintain it.

SOMEONE WHO CARES!

I change my engine oil at 5000 miles during off season, at 2500 miles during race season. I only use STP 2808 oil filters from Autozone. The only time I would use a GOOD synthetic oil would be for road course racing.
