i can almost garantee it is the camshaft plug or u did not uce honda bond on your valve gasket... i had th same ****.. i used a silicone gasket sealent.. it wemnt aWAT.. IF IT WAS YOU GASKET from the head it would make sputtering exause noise.. and more coolant and oil...

what exactly constitutes as a top end rebuild? what seals? so i can go down to honda and order them up

check the dizzy(distributor)...i thought i had a headgasket leak...but turns out the seal in my dizzy was bad and oil was leaking from there

Amen to that brother. Lets see....a B series head must have the cams pulled, which adds another few minutes, PLUS, after installing the head, takes another 20-30 minutes to adjust the valve lash again. 30 minutes to do....yeah, if the cams are out, timing belt's off, and exhaust manifold is disconnected

PLUS, cleaning both mating surfaces...which has taken me sometimes 45 minutes to do if I don't have the right tools with me, spraying the new gasket with copper spray, etc.


I would seriously give my car to something that did a full and complete head gasket job in 30 minutes on a B series....engine running to engine running.

not hard at all...simply remove the distributor, and you will see the o ring...just pull it off or inspect it, and then install a new one as needed. Mark your dist with the top support on head if you don't have a timing light also

is the part that i need number 10 or 12? i could have sworn it was 10 and now when i received i realized i did a thing

12 looks like both of them and 10 is just the small screen part... ask the honda dealer they will know... i would buy both though while your in there might as well change the screen...

i have the same prob on my b16 people tell me that its my cam seal

if it was any of these things (vtec solenoid gasket, or dis. gasket. or cam seal) why would it leak right out of the corner of the head like that. I have the same thing on my jdm b18c and it's a really, really slight leak but its right on top of the serial numbers on the head geasket WTF.

Its probably the cam seal on the drivers side...is it a DOHC?

had the same leak, it turned out to be the valve cover gasket.

The leak is either TWO things

1- VTEC Solinoid gasket

2- O-Ring for the Dizzy.

I replaced my solinoid gasket and put some silicon around the gasket and it quit leaking

The Dizzy, I put a ring of silicon around the cam and on the dizzy and it quit leaking

Try these things and I bet it will stop leaking.. I too thought it was my headgasket

try checking the valve cover gasket, mine used to leak oil in the exact same area and it was my valve cover gasket. i put new honda bond in all the corners of the valve cover and it stopped the leak.
