Default fuel induction service

I had a coupon for it so I figured why not....? I went to Mobil Lube Express. I have heard in the past from other people that have had it some that it will make a big difference and that during it will smoke a lot. Mine did neither

I left there and went and picked up some oil for my change and came home. I ran it a few good times and it doesent feel that much different. I have 251,5xx miles so I figured it needed it.

They put the stuff in the tank, and hooked up a bottle to the intake manifold. I thought that it was supposed to go in front of the throttle body so it could clean out all the deposits in that area? Or was it supposed to use the PCV system? He used the line that hooks the the manifold and has a check valve for the brake booster, is that right? Has anyone one else had experience with this? Can ya shed some light on the subject.......

TIA!

first off , props on the high milage thats really cool!! The fule injection service is a pretty good service. As many rip off services that arer you there such as transmission flushes, this service is pretty good. Most places will use Techron...which is a chevron product. It is put inline in your intake system, usually tapped on the manifold or sometimes used a T-type fitting at the fuel rail. Its purpose is to try and help remove carbon deposits on the back side of the exhaust valves. It also can clean up some varnish in the IM itself. If the additive is added to the fuel tank or inline in the fuel rail/intake it will clean up some varnish in the injectors. Its a pretty good deal because you cant get anything this potent at a retail store.

As far as performance is concerned, you wont notice much....but the noticeable difference is fuel economy, watch for a few MPG increase in some cases.

thanks for the replys! I was thinking about going back today and saying that I think that it wasnt done properly and see if they will do it again....?

If the guy is putting the stuff in the intake manifold for 15 minutes or so an then ask me to turn it off, returns the brake booster line and then I started it up and it idled low for less than a minute. Where did all that stufff go? Then he told me to hold it @ 2k for a little while and then was no smoke. He was surprised that there was none.
