Default power upgrade in 87 Civic AWD

I would like to upgrade preformance in my car. I need to know which motors rotate in the same direction as my D15A2 carb motor and will bolt up to my tranny.
I am looking for something simple ie carbs, reliable, inexpensive. Thanks

well i dont think there are any carb'd upgrades for your car, you can swap in any d series motor but be warned of these 2 things

1) you will have to struggle with the wiring going from a carbed setup to EFI

2) the AWD setup is notoriously weak. dont expect too much power.

i was thinking of a swap without fi ie using a stronger engine with carbs
what part of the AWD is weak?

The 86-87 Intregra motors bolt up to your tranny. The problem is that the carburated versions of that motor are not available in the US.
