Default removing exhaust resonator, loud?

I don't have enough money for a real exhaust right now, but I'm wondering if I get just a piece of pipe welded in place of my stock resonator, will the sound change much? Reason is that my exhaust hangs much too low, and my resonator scrapes on EVERYTHING, and it's getting very annoying. So would it change the sound that much? Everything is original and all stock right now.

yes, removing the resonators will make it louder. might give it a little more "buzzing" sound to it. i have the stock ITR b-pipe with an N1 axle back and it has a clean smooth tone but a friend of mine used to have an HKS hiper muffler with custom piping that had no resonators and his had the "buzzy" sound.

The resonator is just the rear section right? I rolled like that for a while. The muffler on the car was all messed up when I bought it so I just took it off. It's loud, but I loved it. I stuck a muffler back on and I can barely hear my car. I'd recommend that you try to find a way to keep it from rattling though, that got hella annoying.

Would it sound that much different if I was still using the OEM muffler?

The resonator is the ~5" diameter piece of pipe below the middle of the car, just to the rear and below the shifter. It always scrapes at the top of inclines (parking garages), etc.

hmmmm, it'll probably be louder, but not as loud as what I was doing. You'll for sure be able to hear your car from inside the cabin, it'll probably sound like you have an aftermarket muffler welded on or something.

I have removed my resonator and have a Tanabe Race medallion can. It is very loud. It does have a very distinct "buzz" to it. If I could do it again I probably would have just left it in. But it is cheaper to have a custom madrel bend with a aftermarket muffler. Good luck

resonator is to quiet the exhaust, you want loud, remove it, you want a little quiet or atleast a decent loud with a aftermarket muffler, keep it on. you can also get shortened ones too.

Well I don't want loud, but I want something that doesn't hang so low. Damn these H&R springs for making my car so low.

when removing the resonator from an exhaust b-pipe, it will be louder, but since you're on a complete stock system, it won't be too loud.
