It's got the same engine has 90 turbo'd eclipses if I'm not mistaken (at least the same code) and you still see those running.

as with any turbo car. if properly paintained it will be fine. i havent heard of older evos being unreliable. DSM arent as reliable here IMO because most americans dont take care of cars.

yeah but it doesnt have the durability of honda motors that give you like 150,000+ miles with basic tune ups. i think evos are going to cost more to fix and more important parts are going to need changing, same goes for the rx-7s. my friend has a 94 rx-7 and its always in the shop where as a 94 honda still runs fine, if im not mistaken a rotarty engine is not that reliable.

neither do most cars. and they arent nearly as bad as a rotory. Plus you can just use DSM parts for most of the replacement parts and the price is probably half of what the evo part costs.

they share basically the same motor. I meant regular maintince parts will work such as timing belts, etc. I never said an EVO was a DSM.

6 posts and you enlighten us with this realization

that a 125 horsepower NA honda motor will last longer than a 270+ hp motor, wow, are you an engineer?

i think most people here would rather have 2X the hp and have it last 120K miles as opposed to having 120hp and have it last 260K miles
