Civic and CRX front rotor thickness? I'm confusted
So the Brembo, Advance Auto, and Autozone books all say:
88-89 CRX Si 17mm min thick rotor (3178 at AZ and Advance)
88-89 Civic Si 17mm min thick rotor (3178)
90-91 CRX Si 17mm min thick rotor (3178)
90-91 Civic Si 19mm min thick rotor (31029)
90-91 CRX Si 19mm min thick rotor (31029)
90-91 CRX DX 19mm min thick rotor (31029)
90-91 Civic DX 19mm min thick rotor (31029)
In my limited experience, I don't think that's right. I think it should be:
88-89 CRX Si 17mm min thick rotor (3178 at AZ and Advance)
88-89 Civic Si 17mm min thick rotor (3178)
90-91 CRX Si 19mm min thick rotor (31029)
90-91 Civic Si 17mm min thick rotor (3178)
90-91 CRX Si 17mm min thick rotor (3178)
90-91 CRX DX 17mm min thick rotor (3178)
90-91 Civic DX 17mm min thick rotor (3178)
Can anyone shed some light? I have purchased and tried to install the thicker rotor several times, and it don't work! Are all the parts catalogs messed up, or am I doing something wrong?

Bringing an old thread back from the dead because ive spent the last 5 days trying to figure out why my pad retaining clips are scraping the rotor. AUTOZONE AND ADVANCE WEBSITE IS ALL MESSED UP. Verify any parts from these two gyp joints before buying anything.
After riding 12 miles on my bike, 4 trips to autozone, 3 to advance, missing a day of work, im ready to give up on anything not bought from Majestic Honda. you would think any idiot company could make a rotor that fits my car, and properly list it, not the case.

got a picture?
only way i can see this happening is if its sticking out, put on backwards, or you need to clean the area where the clips sit.
the pads, and brake caliper piston should have centered the rotor, and given you a good clearance.

I think I removed that squeeler thing on mine. Just broke off the part that protrudes. But it does belond on the inside. As far as rotors go, I couldn't tell you. There are plenty of online honda OEM parts sellers, check their number and take it with you to the local parts store.

Tyson, yeah that was me on CRXcommunity .... Just finished up the brake job. Went to Advance, returned gouged 21mm rotors and then went to Autozone and got the 3178 style rotor (19mm , corect thickness). Everything bolted together nicely and I torqued everything down to spec and replaced the pad clips again. Just got back from test drive and everything works perfect, no grinding, my brakes feel like new.
