here's a really good question... can you overfill a tranny? I don't think i've ever really known the answer to that.

I much prefer to dictate how the engine will run , and you can do just that by configuring the mechanical interaction of all the components during the build up.--TOO |

READ how much fluid your tranny takes first! You can overfill the tranny and make fluid squeeze out your axle seals, dropping fluid everywhere you go...ask me how I know.....

Awesome i did not know that. I'll have to try that. And I personally will open up a donation-account to send hybrid invasion to anger-management classes.
You'll get through this buddy. Don't worry.

well, I was all set to do this but I called my Local Honda Parts shop and they said they don't carry the fill bolt washer!
I then proceeded to get in this huge argument with the guy as to why you needed to remove the fill bolt in order to know how much to fill the tranny with oil and he was saying how I don't know what i'm talking about and that they NEVER remove the fill bolt. I figured that they just put in the correct amount. Anyway, I looked in my Helms and it said for a S40 tranny, it takes 1.9 qts. Is that right? I'm assuming I have the S40 tranny (1998 US EX Coupe). Anybody know where I can get some fill bolt washers?

yeah, thats similiar to what I use now. I bought this thing that lets you screw the bottle of oil onto it and it has a spout that goes down into the fill hole and lets you fill the tranny, and has a valve on it so you can let it pour into the tranny when you want it to.

3 quarts of Honda MTF fill it through the top and you will have NO PROBLEMS. I saw a post in the ITR forum and I think there was one here too but seems that most are going with 3 quarts over the called for 2.3 liters
