Help quick: how to bleed clutch master cylinder
Ok, I've got a new clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder installed and I'm trying to bleed the system.
As far as I know the sequence is unloosen bleeder screw on slave then depress clutch, then tighten bleeder screw then lift up clutch pedal. I've been repeating this process for a whole bottle of fluid and I keep getting air bubbles. What to do?

Re: Help quick: how to bleed clutch master cylinder (hitop)
can anyone help?
Here's the steps I took:
1) loosened bleeder screw
2) push in clutch pedal
3) tighten screw
4) bring clutch pedal back up
5) meanwhile also checking reservoir to make proper fluid level
6) repeat process until there is no air in line and pedal has pressure
Is this right? Like I said i did this with a whole bottle of fluid and I'm not getting any pressure in the pedal.

Re: Help quick: how to bleed clutch master cylinder (hitop)
After you tighten the bleed screw and bring the pedal back up, pump the pedal for 10 times or so. It will eventually build pressure as well as push the air bubbles toward the slave cylinder. Repeat process till no bubbles. if you haven't already, try attaching come clear plastic tubing on bleed screw. This makes it easier to see air bubbles and less likely to suck air in as well. Good luck

Thanx for the reply. I did forget to mention I do have the clear tubing connected to end of bleed screw. I'll try what you recommended.

Re: Help quick: how to bleed clutch master cylinder (ragejed)
This whole fu*king project has turned into a nightmare, after following directions that I should pump the pedal about 10 times while I have the bleed screw tightened, now the slave cylinder is leaking fluid from where the rubber boot is.
I did a search about this and it seemed pretty straight forward. My Helms didn't go into much detail about it either.
So, does anyone here know how to do this correctly?

I was wondering about that or maybe I screwed it up but I doubt that. I always do my own work and it comes out tight.

If there is fluid from the boot, the slave is busted, hence why you are getting air... buy a new one. But first clean it, and ensure it is leaking.

You can clearly see and hear air and fluid coming from where the boot is on the slave.

Re: Help quick: how to bleed clutch master cylinder (hitop)
Here is my procedure:
2 people, one @ the slave, one in the car to pump
Pump pedal ~5 times and hold it down -> have assistant open bleeder, bleed pressure, and then close the bleeder. Repeat process until fluid is clean, and the clutch feels "normal"
Also, it does sound like you have a bad slave cylinder....

Really? That kinda sounds the oposite from what I was doing and from what I've read in other posts. Could you or someone lay it out so it's idiot proof? I mean fool proof? Like this:
1) this is what you do for step 1
2) this is what you do for step 2
3) so on and so forth
I don't have any more time to burn on this bull$hit. Thanx for any help you guys.

here what you need to do before the beeding starts. you need a clear tube and a small clear bottle to stick the clear tube in it fill the clear bottle up till you cover the bottom of the tube with brake fluid about an 1 in. or more. the other end of the clear tube goes on the nipple. ok ur almost ready to beed the line.
step 1. find another person to push on the pedal about 5-6 times and hold it there.
step 2. remember that clear tube on the nipple there?? make sure the end is in the bottom of the clear bottle this prevent air getting back into the system when you close the nipple.
step 3. open the nipple and let the fluid and air out. it should bubble out means air is leaving the sys.
step 4. close the nipple do the 2 more times and make sure you check and add fluid in the master cyl.
step 5. when the bubbleing stops and fluid is going out in a steady stream means you system in now air free!! your padel push should be close to factory or better.
oh and the cyl. its sounds like you got a bad unit. replacement is the best thing to do.

Re: (Da Integra)
Thanx Da Integra
You're exactly right my man. That's the way you need to bleed the system correctly. I also want to thank my buddy Brandon over at InlineFour for giving my pointers on how to bleed properly.
As far as the slave going bad, I went over to South Coast Acura in Costa Mesa and just bought one there. I'll have to contact drivewire.com about the bad slave and hopefully get a refund.
Big props to Brandon @ http://www.inlinefour.com

So if you dont bleed your system properly this will cause the pedal to be soft right? My pedal is soft as hell, but i didnt pump the clutch, i just had my cousin depress the cluthc everytime i loosened the nut. does it make a difference?
thanks

Re: Help quick: how to bleed clutch masetr cylinder
I have the same issue however I bought and installed both brand new master clutch and slave cylinder. I also did the two person pump then open bleeder valve in the above stated sequence but still have a limp clutch. There's no leaking that I can find. I did the clear tube in the clear bottle as well. Any advice?

Re: Help quick: how to bleed clutch masetr cylinder
I'm having a problem bleeding my clutch. I replace the slave cylinder and bled it worked fine for a few weeks my girlfriend drives the car like she's Tanner Foust. I went to re bleed the master slave and when I open bleeder nipple it sucks air and no matter how much I try to bleed the system nothing happens any idea's????

Re: Help quick: how to bleed clutch masetr cylinder
i use a chunk of 2x4 wedged next to the seat bottom to hold down the pedal.
not absolutely necessary but i find it helpful:

works with ***** pump attachments too (not that i'd know anything about that).
dont forget to pre-bleed cmc otherwise you'll be pumping for an hour like i did.

Re: Help quick: how to bleed clutch masetr cylinder
My way is easier and faster and one person can do alone
I use a oiler pump can put brake fluid in it with hose from pump to slave bleed screw barely open bleed screw and pump away
Watch reservoir for bubbles to stop then clutch is bleed easy
Wash around clutch reservoir to rid of any brake fluid that might have got above max mark

I flush out the fluid till the resivour is empty, and pull out the resivour and clean the inside, its usually full of gunk, then i fill er up and bleed it with fresh fluid, And its very easy to do by your self, all you need is a long bar or piece of wood to hold down the clutch as you bleed it.

seems like everyone is having these issues lately including me.
the pump and hold method works but it isnt the easiest.
see this:

if u r replacing the master then just do the slave too. dont be like me. 8(
